General Season Information - 2025

Baseball: Quad Town Minor Ball Association is affiliated under Baseball Regina and Baseball Sask under the umbrella of Baseball Canada.

Softball: Quad Town Minor Ball Association is affiliated under Regina Minor Softball League and Softball Sask under the umbrella of Softball Canada.

Our goal within QTMBA is to give every player the opportunity to play, learn, have fun and keep playing! Our organization objectives and focus are based on the following:

1. Coaching

  • All our coaches must meet the appropriate coaching qualifications & certifications as outlined by our affiliated associations (Baseball Sask and Softball Sask).
  • We also offer all coaches skills and training information and resources which ensure proper skill development and techniques to adequately teach and develop all players.
  • All Coaches must keep an up-to-date Criminal Record Check (CRC).

2. Player and Organization Growth and Development

  • As our organization continues to grow it is important that all players play at the appropriate skill level.
  • This ensures that every player is able to enjoy the game with players of comparable skill.
  • As player numbers continue to grow, we are focusing on developing A (Softball) and AA (Baseball) teams for age categories 11U and above as long as interest and registration numbers support it.

3. Team Formations (Teams are formed based on several factors)

  • Within the lower age groups (U7 and U5 Ball) teams are formed preferentially by location
  • Within U9 and above teams are formed through an evaluation process preferentially to balance skill level and commitment as well as coaching commitment
  • Once placed on a team, that team will remain together for the entire season (staying together promotes greater opportunities for building team camaraderie and friendships).
  • As we move to A & AA teams, we will be hosting voluntary tryouts which will include independent evaluators.

4. Scheduling

  • QTMBA maintains central scheduling to ensure we can accommodate adequate diamond utilization throughout the entire season for all teams.
  • It is important for our organization to try to maintain a level of consistency for the U9 teams and below. Our main goal is to maintain consistent nights of the week for games and practices, however due to limited diamond space the specific locations may vary.

5. League Play: Play teams in and outside of Regina:

  • 9U Softball and Baseball - Practice is still important. There is a league outside of Regina that schedules home and home games amongst all the teams. Typically, there are no playoffs.
  • All 11U play in the Regina Baseball (A) and Regina Softball (B) Leagues
    • A (Baseball)/B(Softball)
    • AA (Baseball)/A(Softball)
  • See Level of Play details below for more information

6. Provincial Play:

  • Because of our involvement with Baseball Sask, QTMB teams are able to compete in provincial playoffs. Provincial play is encouraged by QTMBA but is Coach/Parent driven and only supported by our organization.

7. Registration Fees are determined by:

  • League Team Fees
  • Uniforms
  • Equipment and Insurance
  • Coaching and Umpire costs
  • Diamond Costs
  • Website Fees
  • Player Insurance
  • We aim to keep our registration fees as low as adequately possible while ensuring that our athletes are playing in a fun and safe environment.
  • QTMBA is a non-profit organization.
  • Once teams are formed there may be additional team fees to cover team expenses or events. This amount is determined by the team.

8. Fundraiser:

  • We plan to host a minor ball day again this year. This is a full day event hosted in one of our communities. This day typically helps out with a large percentage of the season expenses. This is where every team plays one game all on the same day at one location. This is our only major fundraiser of the season, and it helps keep our annual registration fees as low as possible. This is Minor Ball Day Board driven and requires a lot of volunteer help, so it is encouraged that parents step up to help. Further information will be sent out later in the season. We do request Parent Volunteer
