There is a limit of 25 evaluation roster spots available per Age Category as well as a waitlist.
There is a mandatory $40 evaluation fee that must be paid at time of registration. Your spot in evaluations will not be guaranteed until payment has been received.
Info for players from within Quad Town Minor Ball Association:
Evaluations for AA Baseball and A Softball are voluntary and not mandatory but are encouraged.
Softball Sask: Any players wanting to Play A ball must attend tryouts evaluations within their own association if this level of ball is offered. If it is not, a release must be signed by QTMBA prior to attending any other organizations tryouts. Releases will not be provided for the same level of play that QTMBA offers. *Subject to Board review
Baseball Sask: Any players wanting to Play AA or AAA ball must attend tryouts evaluations within their own association if this level of ball is offered. If it is not, any player may wish to try out with their next closest organization that offers the caliber of ball they wish to play. In the event they are successful a release will be signed by QTMBA to play for the neighbouring organization. Releases will not be provided for the same level of play that QTMBA offers. *Subject to Board review

Softball Sask: Please note any players outside of QTMBA wanting to tryout for A, may do so (a release from your home association will be required prior to tryouts). In the event a player is not successful in making an A team they are required to return to their home association.
Baseball Sask: Please note that players may not pick and choose which association they play for if their home association is offering teams at the same level (A & AA). Any players outside of QTMBA wanting to tryout for AA, may do so but must ensure their home association is not offering teams at the same level. In the event the player is successful in making the team they will be required to provide a release from their home association. In the event they do not make the team they will be required to return to their home association.

The Primary Evaluation Date should be your first selection. ONLY select the Alternate Evaluation Date if you have other commitments and you cannot attend the Primary Evaluation Date.
From within the RAMP Registration platform you will need to select "Camp and Clinic Registration" to register for the Evaluations.
All evaluations will be held at the Credit Union Spark Center in Weyburn, SK.

U11AA Baseball: Primary - Feb 23,2025 9AM-12PM.
Alternate - Feb 28,2025 5:30-7:30PM.
U13AA Baseball: Primary - Feb 22,2025 9AM-12PM.
Alternate - Feb 28,2025 7:30-9:30PM.
U15AA Baseball: Primary - Feb 22,2025 12:30-3:30PM.
Alternate Mar 1,2025 8-10PM.
U18AA Baseball: NO AA team will be arranged this season.
U11A Softball: Primary - Feb 23,2025 12:30-3:30PM.
Alternate Mar 1,2025 6-8PM.
U13A Softball and Above: NO A team will be arranged this season.

What to wear/bring:
-Proper gym attire
-clean indoor running shoes
-ball glove
-Bat
-Helmet
-water bottle
-catcher gear (if you do not have catchers gear, we will provide you with a set for evaluation purposes)
Athletes should arrive 15-20 minutes prior to their start time for registration and warm up. Each athlete will be asked to sign in be provided a jersey with an evaluation number. These Jerseys must be returned once the player has completed their evaluation.
Timed Run - Each athlete will be timed in a run from; Home - 1st. Each athlete will be given 2 attempts and their best time will be recorded.
Fielding - Each athlete will take part in multiple fielding drills
Hitting - All athletes will cycle through various hitting stations:
Pitchers - Pitchers will be asked to warm up to full pitch, they will be evaluated on their mechanics, command and velocity.
Catchers - Catchers will be evaluated on their mechanics, framing, and blocking, and throwing.
Each athlete will be evaluated though out each station and should remember that evaluators are watching for attitude and effort as well as skill.
‘AA & A’ TEAM SELECTION
Based on the evaluation scores from the Hitting and Fielding portion each athlete will be ranked. Once final registration numbers for each age division have been established the following selection process will apply. After the top 8, 9 or 10 etc. athletes have been identified, the head coach along with a board member select the remaining athletes to complete the roster. For example, if the final team number is 12, the top 9 scored athletes will be placed on the A team. The final 3 athletes will be chosen at the head coaches’ discretion and through the guidance of the board member.
INJURY FOR PLAYER EVALUATIONS
It is mandatory that all injured players during the evaluation process will require a doctor’s note advising when they are cleared to participate. Players who are injured and cannot participate in our evaluation process will be placed or not placed on the A or AA team at the discretion of the head coach and a board member.
